Directed by Katharina Schmitt, NOT I by Samuel Beckett opens the series.

NOT I, a play by the Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Samuel Beckett takes place in total darkness, in the space, where a single ray of light illuminates the mouth of the actress 2.5 metres above the stage. The text is a fragmentary internal monologue describing several moments in the life of a woman. The main theme running through the text is the relationship between language and remembering.

Premiere: 12.1.2013

Performances: 2.2.2013 and 15.3.2013

The project is funded with a grant from the Department of the Accompanying Programme of the National Gallery.
